With over two decades of experience in the investment and financial planning fields, AJ heads Macdonald Financial Services and directs the planning, management, analysis, research and review of all client programs.
EDUCATION
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, AJ began his financial services career in 1995 at Mercantile bank in St. Louis. He then transitioned to Norwest Bank in Denver in the Trust and Investment Management Department, eventually incorporating Macdonald Financial Services in 2001.
COMMUNITY
AJ is active with several local charities including Sertoma, Colorado Youth Outdoors and McKee Hospital. He has been a board member of the Healthier Communities Coalition, NoCo 20/30 and has worked with the Boy's and Girls Club of Larimer County.

FAMILY
He is a proud dad of three children, Morgan, James and Charlie and two step children, Rachel and Heather. As a family, the Macdonald’s enjoy playing outside together and caring for 4 dogs, 1 cat, and numerous aquatic residents of Horseshoe Lake, the population of which varies depending on what wanders in and out, and what the kids add and remove.
FUN
A dedicated sports fan, AJ supports CSU football, tracks Kansas City Chiefs Football, KU basketball, and Colorado Avalanche hockey. Recreationally, AJ is an avid sportsman – fishing for everything from sunfish to sharks, and hunting small and big game.
